Beyond Right and Wrong
Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing, there is a field. I’ll meet you there.-Rumi
This past week someone was talking to me about their spiritual experience. I left the conversation feeling strange. At first, I could not understand what felt off, as I am a spiritual person and love to chat with people about spirituality. But then it hit me. When people share from a place of better than or as if they have some special sauce in life, it totally turns me off, especially in the spiritual realm.
We are all walking this path of life together. Some chapters are magical, some have suffering, some have transformation and growth spurts. Some moments are good, some are bad, and we are all doing the best we can at any given moment.
I believe we belong to each other. I believe we can all have each other’s back. I do not choose to think my experience or my spiritual journey is better than anyone else’s path; any spiritual path that proposes better than, I want nothing to do with because it feels elitist and exclusive.

I have coached hundreds of women, and one thing I know for sure is that everyone has a spiritual path, and everyone’s spiritual path is different. Thank the Goddess for that! How boring life would be if everyone had the same sacred contract and spiritual path
This society we live in has a strange paradigm of better than and less than, right and wrong, and all different types of binary thinking. I find it limiting and so unsatisfying. I truly want a more expansive full spectrum world. A world where we honor and revere difference. A world where people honor human connection. A world where the deepest values is the dignity of the human journey.
Like they say in yoga, Namaste: I bow to the Divine in you. What about you? What do you think? How do you like to define your spiritual journey?
